IF you are interested in D&D there are some things you'll need to first understand.
Every D&D group is different, depenging on your DM (Dungeon MAster) and PCs (Player Characters) your campaign may be more combat based or roleplay based. The DM is the ultimate authority, all resources (Player's handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, Xanathar's Guide to everything, Save Advaice, etc.) are essentially guides to assist players and DMs... but it is ultimately up to the group to decide what the rules are for their game. For the Phantom Rose, our group's goal is to essentially make a fun story combined with combat and roleplay. Starting out we are concentration more on combat, but I expect once we become even more comfortable with combat that roleplay will become a larger focus. Our story exists in the Forgetten Realms setting, for further understanding of the world we play in I recommend reading the "Sword Coast Adventure's Guide". However, our DM makes the story relatable even if you don't know the world.
